The GCS MLR Planning Manager leads coordination of the Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) review process for promotional and disease state awareness materials, ensuring timely, compliant, and strategically aligned asset approval.  This role fosters strong collaboration among Marketing, Agency, Regulatory, Medical and Content Delivery partners, oversees critical MLR planning for launch, congress and campaign activities, manages a team to prioritize assets and streamline review workflows, and serves as a subject matter expert on approval processes and compliance guidelines. 

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads collaborator engagement to enable effective and timely end-to-end MLR material review and approval of promotional and disease awareness assets to ensure medical accuracy and regulatory compliance  

  • Builds strong cross-functional relationships with key Marketing, Commercial, MLR, Agency and Content Delivery partners 

  • Champions adherence to and serves as a subject matter expert for the Marketing Guide that dictates MLR approval process standards and operating procedures  

  • Leads Day 0 MLR Planning strategic approach for new product and indication launches, data releases and/or label updates to enable the timely release of assets upon label approval aligned to the Brand strategy 

  • Leads MLR Planning strategy approach for all other major Brand activities 

  • Leads our nearshore MLR Planning Associate team aligned to business-as-usual activity, responsible for: 

  • Leading the prioritization of assets within the MLR review process to effectively manage reviewer capacity and align with key business objectives 

  • Facilitating the process for managing consults, which allow those involved in content/ asset development, to align on the Medical, Legal and Regulatory guidance prior to submission for MLR Review and Approval   

  • Accomplishing the asset plan for Brand market events, e.g. congresses, data releases and label updates  

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree  

  • 5 – 7 years of relevant professional experience, with a focus on pharmaceutical marketing operations or healthcare related agency roles 

  • Demonstrated success in People leadership 

  • Experience with managing supplier partners 

  • Independent self-starter with demonstrated program management skillset 

  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communications 

  • Ability to effectively work in a cross-functional team environment 

  • Experience using various PM platforms to plan, manage and communicate project risks / progress 

  • Ability to lead and influence without formal authority  

  • Demonstrated success leading program management of strategic and/or business critical initiatives without formal authority 

Preferred Background:

  • Knowledge of the MLR process that ensures timely reviews and approval of assets that are accurate and compliant  

  • Experience with Digital and Omnichannel campaigns 

  • Understanding of scientific and/or commercial marketplace respective to biopharmaceutical therapeutic area(s)
